You may not believe it, but yes, there is something called General Motors weight loss diet program. So what a name of American car manufacturer has anything to do with weight loss diet program?

The answer to that question is pretty simple actually. The diet plan called General Motor weight loss diet program because it was initially intended for employees and dependents of General Motors Inc. back in 1980s. However, what that was started as an exclusive diet program then quickly gained popularity and soon become one of the most famous diet programs worldwide.

General Motors weight loss diet program is a compilation of several diet plans which focuses on healthier food options. It is a seven day diet plan which has two ultimate rules: no alcohol and 10 to 15 glasses of water everyday. The break down of the diet plan is as follow:

Day 1 – Consume all fruits except banana. One highly recommended fruit is cantaloupe or musk melon by another name. This fruit can be really effective and lose you about 3 to 4 pounds on day one.

Day 2 – Consume all vegetables. The vegetables can be cooked or raw. Baked potato is ok for breakfast, but you should only consume pure vegetables for the rest of the day.

Day 3 – Consume mixed of fruits and vegetables. Bananas are still not allowed.

Day 4 – Consume around 3-4 glasses of milk and 8-10 bananas. This diet is aimed to replenish lost sodium or potassium.

Day 5 – Consume a small portion of lean meat and 6 tomatoes. Beef is preferable or you can change the meat portion into tofu or cottage cheese.

Day 6 – Beef and vegetables.

Day 7 – Consume brown rice, fruits, and vegetables. You should start to feel lighter on day seven after a whole week of cleasing.
